J'adore...Monochrome

Welcome to another new feature! Seeing as I changed my blog name to J'adore Jade, I decided to do a new regular feature called 'J'adore...', letting you all know what I'm loving at the moment!

J'adore Monochrome
Monochrome is huge this SS13. Personally, I think Monochrome is perfection! A black and white outfit can create simple, classic look, or transform you and make you stand out incredibly. Although a good colour pop makes an interesting outfit, sometimes the starkness of the deep black and brigh white can look as effective.

As cliche as it is, a timeless black & white outfit seems to always remind me of romantic Paris and how sophisticated and elegant the Parisian women look in their monochrome outfits with perhaps a flash of red lipstick.

Monochrome was all over the SS13 catwalks, and they created very striking shows
 Chanel SS13
 Marc Jacobs SS13
Prada SS13

The High Street interpretations of the trend are fabulous and there are so many great pieces avaiable at the moment!

New Look

I recently featured this Miss Selfridge Tuxedo jacket in my '5 Ways To Wear...Black Midi Dress' post and fell in love with it. I've only worn it once so far, to a nice family dinner, but I've though of so many other ways to wear it. I just have to be careful as I am a very clumsy person so it'll have to be a white wine night!
It's such a classic piece that I'm glad I have invested in it, as it stands out and is a beautiful shape. So flattering.

Overall I think monochrome is such an amazing trend and I will be stocking up on classic black and white tailored pieces

Oscars 2013: Best Dresses

I have got to say, when I woke up this morning and saw the dresses from the Oscars last night, it really brightened my Monday morning. They were so beautiful! As always, here are my 8 favourites:

Amy Adams | Adele | Anne Hathaway | Fan Bingbing
Amanda Seyfried | Helena Bonham-Carter | Jennifer Aniston | Kelly Osbourne

Not much change to the previous award ceremony trends of monochrome and red, however the dresses were absolutely stunning. Why oh why do I not have more places to get dressed up for!!! I particularly like Jennifer Aniston's red gown and Kelly Osbourne's black floor length beauty.
Maybe I shall just start arriving to work ridiculously overdressed instead :)

In other news, I've been shopping! Look out for some outfit posts coming soon and possibly a 'What'sIn My Bag' feature :)

Brit Awards 2013: Best Dressed

Yet another awards ceremony! The Brit Awards came right after LFW, so there was no reason for the attendees not to keep the fashion stakes high! As with the previous award's so far this year black was the go to colour for many.
Alexa Chung | Emile Sande | Rita Ora | Emma Willis
Lana Del Rey | Natasha Khan | Rebecca Furguson | Paloma Faith

My favourite Paloma Faith looked stunning as per usual! My other girl crush, Lana Del Rey look very effortlessly gorgeous as well in her Chanel shirt dress. Bat for Lashes's front woman Natasha Khan rocked vintage metalics, while Emile Sande, Emma Willis and Rebecca Furguson look classic in black. British Style Award winner Alexa Chung shone in a cute white playsuit.

Sorry I haven't done any LFW posting! I was working for the whole time at the Freemason's Hall at Vauxhall Fashion Scout shows so by the time I got home each day I just wanted to crash! I may do a round up of my favourite collections this weekend though :)

I have had a total transformation on my blog, including the url, layout, name EVERYTHING!
I felt that, although I do love lipstick and lace, there was just far to many dashes and kisses & it didn't look very professional. Therefore I have changed it to JadoreJadex.blogspot.co.uk

I hope you all like the new format and name, and please refollow on blog lovin and all other areas!

Thanks xo

Would you believe me when I tell you, you're the queen of my heart

Happy Valentine's Day! I love that window displays are red with hearts everywhere and I love red roses. I'm a helpless romantic, but in my own way! I would hate to have flowers delivered to my office, or other embarrassing public displays of affection. I also would hate those who are single to feel rubbish becuase of what day it is. It's a celebration of love, of any kind I believe. Love towards friends and family not only a partner. I believe romance is personal and everyone's idea of romance is different and each couple will celebrate (or not celebrate) the day in their own special way. I can't wait to spend my evening with my boyfriend at the Hard Rock Cafe!

As I'm feeling in a loved-up mood I thought I'd share something I'm kind of obsessed with at the moment....Heart Manicures! I love hearts on nails, probably because they use my favourite colours and look so cute! See a selection of my favourites (all pictures from tumblr)
I hope you all have a wonderful Valentine's Day, whatever way you spend it!

5 Ways to Wear...Boyfriend Jeans

Second '5 Ways to Wear' instalment! Today I chose to style Boyfriend Jeans. I'm religiously a skinny jeans girl, however I have seen loads of boyfriend jeans lately and they have really caught my eye. So here are my 5 boyfriend jeans outfits...

Boyfriend Jeans featured throughout: Topshop MOTO Vintage Lacey Rip Jeans  (£42)

 Nirvana T-Shirt - TruffleShuffle | Converse - Schuh | Leather Jacket - River Island | Sunglasses - New Look
Jumper - MissSelfridge | Satchel - Shop Mozzy Pop | Shoe Boots - DaisyStreet | Necklace - RocknRose
Top - BooHoo | Ballet Pumps - New Look | Necklace - Tatty Devine
 Blouse - Cameo Rose@New Look | Red Heels - Daisy Street | Blazer - Forever21 | Clutch- Forever21
Top - New Look | Shoe Boots - BooHoo | Jacket - MissGuided

Again, I chose to do a mix of casual and more dressy combinations.
First off, the slightly rock chick inspired outfit is something I would definitely wear. You can't beat a band tee and ripped jeans combo sometimes! Add converse and ray ban style sunnies and you will look effortlessly cool.
I feel you have to be careful with looser jeans, as if you wear loose on top too you can end up looking like a sack. Even though I did picked the pink jumper in one of the looks, it's slightly tailored and the heeled boots will make in feminine still.I love the bags on shopmozzypop, some of the designer inspired items are so beautiful!
The Nautical look is a theme that reocurrs almost every spring/summer! Not that I can complain as I do love a bit of red! Striped top and casual flats and you are set for a day on the pebbles (being in England, I won't even pretend I could have a sunny day on a sandy beach!)
Then we move to the 'dressy' outfits. The red heels with gold toes are stunning (although I could never handle those heels) I love this look as its masculine but still feminine, like boy-meets-girl. I'm not usually a gold girl, but lately I have been slightly more fond of gold.
Finally, I fell in love with the cigarette heeled boots and wanted to include them, so I paired them with this tailored contrast jacket.

Previously, I had always thought you had to be stick thin to get away with boyfriend jeans, kind of like Kate Moss. But doing this made me realise that they are very wearable and they are high on my wish list!

Elle Style Awards 2013: Best Dressed

Chloe Moretz | Daisy Lowe | Elizabeth Olsen | Kristen McMenamy
Kate Hudson | Katy B | Samantha Barks | Sophie Ellis Bextor

Another night, another award ceremony! As awlays, the Elle Style Award's did not disappoint with amazing. Again, black seemed to be the colour of choice for many. I love Katy B's sexy thigh high spilt, and Kristen McMenamy looks rock chick cool. Kate Hudson stood out in red and Dasiy Lowe looked edgy but pretty in a dark winter floral prom style dress. The belle of the ball for me though was Sophie Ellis Bextor in another vintage style floral dress and lip shaped clutch. I've always loved Sophie's vintage, quirky style.

So far this year, the dresses of the awards season have been beautiful and makes me wish I had more occaison's to dressed up for!

BAFTAs & Grammy Awards 2013: Best Dressed

BAFTAs

Anne Hataway | Caroline Flack | Jennifer Lawrence | Elizabeth Olsen
Natalie Dormer | Gemma Arterton | Paloma Faith

Monochrome ruled the Red Carpet again, with many stars rocking their LBD's proving that you can still stand out and look time-less in black. Other notable trends were Metalics, and Natalie nails this in her beautifully simple floor length gown. My favourite though has to be Paloma Faith for both of her dresses. As usual she looked quirky and individual!

Grammy Awards

Adele | Alison Williams | Carrie Underwood | Kelly Osbourne
Janelle Monae | Natasha Beddingfield | Kelly Rowland | Rihanna

Across the pond on the same night, the Grammy Awards took place. Similarly, black was a strong trend on the Red Carpet. Most opted for a classic floor length gown, however Janelle Monae stood out in her suit and looked amazing. Also Kelly Osbourne sported the popular heart tipped nails (that I am obssesed with at the moment!) Natasha Beddingfield looked beautiful in her red lace dress, nailing cut out panels and metalics in one dress, and Rihanna was stunning in scarlet.

Both award ceremonies really proved how amazing this year is going to be in fashion, and of course, for me the popular colours of black, white and red are perfect for me!

5 Ways to Wear...Black Midi Dress

This is a new feature I've been planning for a while and have finally gotten around to posting! In between finishing one internship and starting my new one I haven't had much time to blog, (sorry!) but I think I've finally sorted myself out enough to post regularly, and hope that this '5 Ways to Wear' will be a weekly addition to my Blog, so here goes!

First '5 Ways to Wear' is a black Midi Dress from New Look (£12.99!)
Dress- New Look / Boucle Jacket- Miss Selfridge/ Bag- Marc B / Pumps- Topshop

Dress-New Look / Fur Coat- New Look / Bag- Asos / Shoes- MissSelfridge
Dress- New Look / Camo Jacket- Topshop / Heeled Chelsea Boots- New Look / Backpack- BooHoo
Dress- New Look / Hat- Topshop / Denim Jacket- Asos / Creepers- New Look
Dress- New Look / Tuxedo Jacket- Miss Selfridge / Bag- BooHoo / Shoes- Topshop

I had such fun creating these 5 different looks with the one dress. I also went outside my comfort zone when choosing some of the pieces but I would definitely wear all of them! I would have to say though my favourite is the first one as I am a fan of classic style outfits & I recently bought the boucle jacket featured in it, however the Camo jacket has grown on me so may have to purchase one soon!

I love how, with one simple item, you can dress so for so many different occasions. The first could be worn to work, the second to dinner, third to a festival, the forth shopping and the final on a night out! The possibilities are endless...
