Hey, I put some new shoes on & suddenly everything is right

Black Velvet Boots - Dr. Martens
 Red Boots - Primark
Black Studded Slippers - New Look
Burgundy Studded Slippers - New Look
Black Studded Litas - Jeffrey Campbell

I have always been more of a 'shoe person' than into bags, but I think over the last month it's got a bit out of hand! However, I would like to point out some of them were gifts for Christmas so I haven't spent a ridiculous amount on shoes!
You may have seen the Dr. Martens on my wish list, and my parent's bought me them for Christmas & they are so beautiful. They gave me a huge blister when I broke them in, but now they are super comfy.
The red boots from Primark are so cute, I feel like Peter Pan or a little Pixie in them & at £8 how could I not?! I had a pair of studded slippers for ages, but somehow I managed to break them so my Mum replaced them with another black pair, while my Aunt got me the burgandy pair :)
Last but definitely not least are (finally!) a pair of Jeffrey Campbell Studded Lita's from my amazing boyfriend! Originally I asked for the studded Leela's from Daisy Street that I have featured on many a wish list, but he suprised me with the real thing, & I am so grateful ♥

I feel I have to take a break from shoes for a while, so I may invest in some more bags (although, I did get 2 bags for Christmas, post coming soon!), Watch this space...

Golden Globes 2013: Best Dressed

The Red Carpet at the Golden Globe's this year definitely set the bar for fashion in 2013! When doing research for this post I fell in love with every dress I came across. As you may know, I love black, white and red. Judging from the red carpet here, red and nude were the colours this year.

Red
Red was a a go to colour for many stars, ranging from rich raspberry to coral. For me, Zooey Deschanel stole the show in her Oscar de la Renta gown and pearl necklace, looking timelessly gorgeous as usual! Jessica Lawrence wowed in Dior Haute Couture which has a beautiful fitted bodice.

Nude
Another theme was nude/white dresses. Although light colours can often be unforgiving, these lovely ladies have bodied to show off and look ever so elegant in nude. Amanda Seyfried's Givenchy lace dress is stunningly simple yet really stands out. Amy Adam's fishtale/mermaid dress by Marchesa really reminded me of a Vera Wang wedding dress as it's so pretty and has a lovely silhouette. Anne Hathaway wore a beaded Chanel number which, paired with her cropped hair, to me had a very French look to it. Finally, Megan Fox, who although very recently had a baby, didn't stop her showing off her amazing figure in this tight lacy Dolce&Gabbana dress.

Best of the Rest
I think Adele looked stunning in her simple black full length dress by her favourite designer, Burberry. Tina Fey had numerous outfit changes throughout the night, but this beaded monochrome piece was my favourite by L'Wren Scott.

This was one of the first 'big' events on 2013 and it has made me so excited to see what the rest of the year has in store for fashion!

No one ever tells you that forever feels like home

2012 has been an incredible year for me. It honestly feels like the whole year went in a month. So many things happened, some not so good, but on the whole it was an amazing year.

Looking back to the start of 2012, I cannot believe how far I have come. I am incredibly excited for what 2013 may hold. I started 2012 a student, with a broken foot and bright red hair. I was planning to study English Literature at Goldsmiths. I guess at that time, I really didn't know what I wanted to be when I eventually grow up. In many ways, I still don't. But I am so glad that I did not go to University in September. I have learnt so much through not going and I have figured out what I want to do now. Starting 2013, I am an intern for an amazing company. Although the red still peaks through my brown hair, so much has changed. I know the career path I want to follow and have my foot in the door to do so. My style, I feel, has evolved (with the help of a regular income!) and I feel able to be myself and express this through my fashion and beauty choices daily. I write almost every day, which I adore!

I started my blog in May as I was regularly reading fashion blogs, and I've always wanted to become a Fashion Journalist and not just because of 'The Devil Wears Prada' or 'The Hills'. I genuinely love writing and fashion, so combining the two is my perfect career. I figured that this blog could be my little space on the internet to express my opinions on fashion, as well as my own personal style. I feel now I've got the hang of it, although my aim for next year is most definitely to post more regularly and New Years Resolution is to do some Outfit of The Day posts and show you all what I wear instead of what I want to wear, such as my monthly wish lists. I also am giving myself more time to shop and I expand my ever growing wardrobe, especially picking up more vintage pieces and visiting more markets and charity shops (also, I want to over ruling my aversion to spending money, which as a fashion enthusiast seems weird!) I am incredibly greatful for every single page view I get, each time I see a new batch of views I get so excited and proud that people are interested in what I write.
My blog has led to me being The Upcoming's Blog of the Day, and helped me become a contributer to Men's Fashion Magazine. I love running this blog and seeing all the amazing other blogs and speaking to other bloggers. The blogging sphere provides me with daily inspiration and also, aspirations. As I see many of you working with such amazing brands/people and visiting so many exciting events, it gives me hope that my little blog might help me to one day do the same.

Company's January issue was all about blogging. Although everyone and their cats are blogging nowadays, I feel this only enhances the magic and power that blogging and bloggers have on this world, and in particular, on the fashion world. The effect of this will undoubtly have a huge impact on the fashion industry, building on its existing impact, such as bloggers collaborating with brands. Blogging has made people famous and let people work with or meet people they previously only dreamt of.

I am so thankful for my wonderful family and friends who have supported my blog and published work. Especially my Mum, who takes great pride telling pretty much everyone about my blog. I also want to thank my boyfriend, Jason, who has always encouraged me and has vowed to be my photographer this year for my outfit posts. Without the support of all these people, I wouldn't be where I am today.

I cannot wait to see where my blog will take me, and have some amazing posts planned for this year, so stay tuned!

Best Dressed 2012

I've collected my Best Dressed 6 girls of 2012. "Why 6?" I hear you ask. Well, I like even numbers so 6 it is! Mainly the following pictures are of formal events, however most of the girls have amazing casual style too. Enjoy!

6. Florence Welch

I have always liked Florence's vintage, unique style and this year she did not disappoint. Her flame red hair is perfectly complimented by her colour choices earning her number 6 on my Best Dressed

5. Miranda Kerr

Despite having a baby recently, Miranda still looks effortlessly chic whenever in public. I especially like her bags.

4. Zooey Deschanel

Zooey will always have a place in my wardrobe's heart. I love her quirky, vintage style and her hair is perfection. She was quite quiet on the fashion scene this year, however when she did step out, she did so in style!

3. Fearne Cotton

Even though Fearne announced she is expecting her first baby next year, she has not let her expanding baby bump let her change her style. As usual she looks individual and super stylish at both casual and formal events.

2. Alexa Chung

Of course, the winner of the British Style Awards 2012 would be featured highly on my list. You can see my review of her style here. I love her ability to make an outfit look thrown on, but still amazing!

1. Emma Stone

Emma Stone is a well deserved winner of the Style stakes this year! She's not affraid to take risks, and they most definitely pay off as she wows on the red carpet. I think her natural beauty helps a bit though, but I'm just jealous!

I can't wait to see what 2013 brings us in fashion, and to see who makes my 2013 Best Dressed!
