They say that you like the bad girls. Honey, is that true?

Hello lovelies

I thought I'd do a little 'If I were' post that I was tagged in by Rose. Enjoy...

If I were a gemstone, I'd be Ruby
If I were a scent, I'd be  Tom Ford ‘Black Orchid’
If I were a pair of shoes, I'd be a pair of Jeffrey Campbell Studded Lita’s
If I were the weather,
 I'd be a snow
If I were a facial expression, I'd be a small smile

If I were a car, I'd be a vintage beetle
If I were a time of day, I'd be dawn
If I were a month, I'd be October
If I were a place, I'd be New York
If I were a liquid, I'd be a Amaretto
If I were a taste, I'd be dark chocolate

If I were a sea animal, I'd be a cat fish
If I were a food, I'd be a chocolate brownie
If I were a colour, I'd be burgundy
If I were a musical instrument, I'd be a drum kit
If I were a flower, I'd be a deep red rose
If I were a song, I'd be ‘Video Games’ by Lana Del Rey

If I were a planet, I'd be the moon
If I were an object, I'd be a lipstick
If I were a fruit, I'd be a cherry
If I were a sound,
I'd be the sea
If I were a day of the week, I'd be a Thursday

Westfields Fashion Weekend Show

Broccade / Gothic / Metalics / Prints / Burnt Orange
Hello! I have been exceptionally bad with keeping up with my blog lately, sorry! Work is keeping me busy, but expect to see me clogging up your feeds over the next few days while I catch up with my fashion jaunts and purchases!

I will kick of with the Westfields Fashion Weekend Catwalk I went to in the beginning of September. It was a bit impromtu so I only had my Blackberry to take photo's with so please excuse the bad quality. I was in Westfields with my lovely Mum and happened to be arround at the time of the catwalk so got pretty good seats and watched the 15 minute catwalk show. It was a round up of AW 12 trends available in stores in Westfields White City with pop up hair and beauty stations set up around the catwalk site.

I love when they use the space in Westfields for Fashion Events as its so airy and light. The only thing that annoyed me about this show was the amount of children talking, eating and generally being loud! This may sound really rude, but honestly I don't think children and fashion events mix well. It almost ruined the entire show for me. Almost. That was until I saw the beautiful 'Gothic' collection and the dark lip and pony tail combination. I will definitely be trying that soon!

As you have probably gathered from my posts, I'm not a great fan of bright colours! So the 'Prints' and 'Burnt Orange' collections didn't appeal to me at all. But I still appreciated the show. Autumn Winter 12 is shaping out to really excite and inspire me and I cannot wait to build my wardrobe this season.

Weekly Wish List #4

Maxi skirts- both Ebay / studs- Ebay / Disco Pants- Missguided / bracelet- New Look / Skirt- Missguided / Boots- Topshop / Faux Fur Coat- New Look / Tights - Missguided / Ring- New Look / shirt- Missguided / flatforms - New Look

So this weeks Wish List is quite reserved in the fact that although there are 13 items on it, they are from only 4 shops! I threw this list together quite quickly as I have been working on a post for a while, about Westfields Fashion Weekend Catwalks Show,  and wanted to get one done this week. So put together a trusty Weekly Wish List.

I have dicided to finally make a pay pal account so I can buy things from Ebay and I adore the two maxi skirts on here, only £8 inc. postage! As you probably know, I love anything studded. But as my funds are fairly low, I have decided to venture into DYI territory, and plan to purchase these studs to toughen up some of my clothes or cheaper plain clothes from Primark and such as I have found items that have studs on now are bumped up about £15!

These disco pants from Missguided seem amazing! Why pay 70 odd pounds in AA when you can buy identical ones for £25.99. These are high priority on my wishlist!

The only problem about working so near to Oxford Street (appart from rush hour trains, meaning you are thrust into a fat mans smelly armpit on a daily basis) is the tempation to visit TopShop in y our lunch hour. On one such trip I tried on these fabulous boots. I found I needed the size up, probably because they are quite pointed at the top.

I really need to buy more tops and jumpers, but I find buying them so difficult. I have millions of vest tops and sheer shirts but thats about it! I need to branch out more (irony as I have included a sheer shirt here, whoops)

I am really excited to buy my AW wardrobe. I much prefer the coming seasons in comparison to SS.
All my favourite times of year happen in September-February. My Anniversary with my boyfriend, both our birthdays, halloween, bonfire night, of course the Christmas period, New Years Eve and not forgetting January Sales! I like February for Fashion Week and the delayed snow we sometimes have.

Tom Ford Eyewear

I really need a new pair of glasses! I started wearing contact lenses last year and whilst I love them, they are a bit of a hassle at times. So generally, I only wear my lenses about 2-3 times a week. Therefire glasses are still a major part of my life, and wardrobe. I really like Tom Ford Eyewear as the frames are so bold and eye-catching. The cat eye style really suits my face shape (apparently) and I like how the are reminiscent of the 50s and 60s era.

Although at first I thought they were quite expensive fro glasses, I then realised I do wear them pretty much everyday! If there was anything worth spending a lot of money on, it would make sense to spend it on something I need (not just want).

I used to really hate wearing glasses, thought I looked so geeky and nerdy. But now I love them. Sometimes when I have lenses in I hardly recognise myself. I think glasses help me look more unique.

I really do have a problem with people who wear glasses purely for fashion. The kind that have just clear glass as lenses. I really just don't understand it! I think those who need glasses, and pull them off with awesome frames and bright colours, look fantastic. But those who have wacky glasses and don't need them? No thank you!

I will leave you with one of my favourite glasses wearer. I love her quirky style and bold frames!

Top 10 Wardrobe Must Haves!

Wardrobe Basics

I have been prepping this post for a while now, trying to narrow down the final 'Top Ten' items I believe all women should have in her wardrobe. The items shown here are staples but addapted to  my personal style and colour scheme. The principles and pieces are there, and anyone can use this as a basis to building a wardrobe that will mean they will have again have to wonder 'why do I have nothing to wear!'

I have been watch an unhealthy amount of 'Goks Clothes Show Live' and as much as I dislike him and his addiction to belts, bangles and boobs ("Lets add another bangle!"), his idea of a staple wardrobe appeals to me. So the 10 wardrobe basics I have picked out here are interchangable and can be worn for work, casual or going out, day or night.

1. Vest Tops. Simple and necessary. These can go under a sheer blouse, with the jeans or skirt.

2. Comfortable Heels. These can be in any style, stilletto, wedge, boot, whatever, as long as you can walk well in them and can survive in them for a long period of time.

3. Ballet Pumps. Everyone should have at least 1 pair of ballet pumps (I have about 15!) They never go out of fashion and are so easy to slip on.

4. Blazer. This jacket adds sophistication to an outfit and is a stylish way to keep warm.

5. Leather Jacket. Release your inner rock star and look effortlessly glam in a leather jacket. I love the biker style jacket as it is laid back and can work with dressed up outfits or casual ones.

6. Blouse. Again, this can be dressed up or down to suit the event you are going to. I kept it simple with back and white and I love a good bow!

7. Jean. Buying a well fitting pair of jeans is time consuming and can be expensive. But I feel investing in a pair of jeans is really worth it as they are so comfortable and easy to wear.

8. Pencil Skirt. For those days you want to feel like a bombshell. Channel your inner Marilyn Monroe in a figure hugging pencil skirt.

9. LBD. No wardrobe is complete without a Little Black Dress. Find a shape you like and you can keep it for years! I always feel glamourous in a prom dress style, and this one has a hint of lace too!

10. Fur Coat. Nothing adds a bit of Old School Hollywood glamour like a fur coat. Keep cosy in the cold seasons and still look fab in a (faux) fur jacket. I love leopard print so this is a must have in my wardrobe!

I love classic black and white outfits; to me they scream sophistication and style. That's the reason I have based mine around those colours. However, you can chose these pieces in whatever colours suit you. Similarly with shapes, if you prefer boot cut jeans and they suit you more go ahead! This is just my personal take on Wardrobe basics.

I loved making this post as it really made me think how easy it is to stay on trend if you have to right basics. each season you can simple pick up some statement pieces in on trend colours to update the look year after year. The days of looking at my (overflowing) wardrobe and whining that I can't find anything to wear are hopefully over!

Weekly Wish List #3

Wish List

Scarf - Alexander McQueen / Del Rey Bag - Mulberry / Dip Hem Skirt - New Look / Dr. Marten's / Bowler Hat - TopShop / Silver Ring - TopShop / Studded Purse - TopShop

This weeks Wish List is a mix of designer and high street and, as you can see, burgandy is prominent! The first two items, the McQueen and Mulberry, are obviously wish list items, things I can dream to own. The rest are pretty affordable and I definitely want them all!

With my new hair (see previous post) I want to bring some more colour to my waredrobe and I am absolutely loving burgandy, berry, wine colours. And, of course, I couldn't stay away from the studded purse that I saw at the TopShop / Vogue Event.

Also, I want to start trying out hats with my new hair. I love hats, I just think they don't suit me, but I want to branch out and try new things so later this week I plan to buy this hat and see how it goes.

Autumn Hair Change!

New Season, new look! No longer do I have bright red hair :( I am now a chocolate chick, still with a hint of red in the light. After Ibiza (post to come soon!) my hair was in such awful condition and the colour had faded to about 6 different shades of red, I decided a change was in order! So here is the first official picture of me with darker hair.

I am actually really pleased with it, although at the start it did take me a while to get used to. I also have to get rid of my little Blythe doll with red hair on the right of my blog :( sob! On a positive, my Mum said I look like Zooey Deschannel, so I can't complain :) I am most excited to be able to wear more colours, and can start wearing my favourite colour, burgandy! I also think this colour will be fab for A/W '12 trends

In other news, guess who won a ticket to London Fashion Week? I am so excited. I am also planning to book a few more shows as there are loads I want to go to and tickets aren't too expensive
